Silver Bear Jewelry is a
privately owned, home-based business
that began in September of 1997 by Marie Cuccia-Brand and
her husband, Richard Brand. If you are interested in seeing these
beautiful and symbolic works, call (314)
993-2252 for a schedule
of shows or for an individual appointment.Striving to bring a portion of the Southwest
to the St. Louis area,
Silver Bear Jewelry works with Native-American artisans who have
continued the tradition of silversmithing and pottery making.
There are over 2000 pieces of jewelry made by Navajo, Hopi and
Zuni artisans. The selection includes traditional works in turquoise
and coral, as well as charoite, gaspeite, white turquoise,
rhodochrosite, petercite and magnasite (to name a few) which are
now being used by these artisans. Although the majority of the
jewelry is made from sterling silver, there are also pieces that are
silver and gold-filled or 14kt gold. Each piece of jewelry is unique,
but we can offer you similar styles and custom pieces by the
artisans. The pottery Storytellers are made with the clay of the
Jemez pueblo and hand-painted.
